Preparation

How will you prep my floor?
Floor preparation is as critical as the application of the floor coating itself. The high technology equipment Rust-Oleum Service Company uses to prepare the floor is crucial to the overall job. A Grind & Go machine will be used to prepare the concrete surface. It’s the quickest and easiest way to prepare any concrete surface and achieve optimal results. The diamond-head attachments mechanically prepare new or old concrete floors for coating.

What if I have an existing coating?
The Grind & Go machine removes adhesives and old coatings
to prepare your floor for the new finish. There could be an additional charge based on the estimate for mastics or epoxies.

What if I have a refrigerator in my garage?
We can remove it for you for an additional charge, you can remove it, or we can coat around it.

Yes. Crack repair is important to the integrity and longevity of the coating.

How do I fix the cracks in my floor?
For an additional charge, Rust-Oleum Service Company repairs or fills any cracks that need to be filled.

Will you remove carpet or vinyl tile from the concrete floor as a part of prep?
Yes. The cost to do this will be included in the estimate.

Who is responsible for securing approval from a homeowner’s association, if needed?
The homeowner.

Will you coat expansion joints in the floor?
Yes, but we won’t fill the expansion joints.

Do you test for appropriate moisture levels?
Yes.

How do you prepare the floor where there is a small opening under a shelf or organization unit?
We have a hand-grinder, which can be used in areas with a small clearing.
